4 Design Secrets for Creating a Happy Home

Did you know that different colors, shapes, and light can stir up all different emotions? By using a few simple design secrets, you can make any space feel happier. Here are 4 design elements that create a happy mood in your home.

Yellow

Yellow is a very cheerful color. Using it to accessorize or complement other parts of your room create a happy mood. For a more dramatic shift in the atmosphere, paint the walls and ceiling. Approach with caution, however, picking the right yellow for walls can be very tricky.

Red

The color red has actually shown to increase blood flow, sped up metabolism, and boost brain functioning. A few splashes of red in a room can improve a sluggish environment. I love red accents in just about any room.

Circles

Curvy shapes are comforting! A few circles in a room give it a more nurturing feel. You don’t want everything in a room to be circular (that would make you dizzy!), but you can cheer up any space by just adding a few curves.

Sunlight

Natural sunlight is one of the best mood elevators available. If your space feels a little gloomy, open the blinds and let the sunshine in! Give your space a nice, lively boost by pulling back the drapes. If it’s a nice day, open the window completely to get some fresh air.
A few design secrets can lead to easy changes and big differences in your space. Here’s to your happy home!
