One of the little details that is often overlooked in the window treatments is the hardware. While it is tempting to go with ready made options, all too often that solution isn’t as sturdy, does’t fit the windows properly, and is not as attractive. The hardware can make all the difference in the finished look of the project. I believe that every detail matters, including the hardware you choose for your window treatments. Let’s take a look at the different options available, along with some of our favorite client selections.

Medallion Hardware:

Medallion hardware offers a great focal point for your window treatments. These decorative pieces add a touch of style and personality and can be customized to match your design aesthetic. Whether you prefer ornate medallions or sleek, modern designs, there are options to suit every style.

Rods for Wide Sliders:

Wide sliding glass doors are a stunning feature in any home, but finding the right hardware can be a challenge. Look for rods specifically designed in widths long enough to complement your wide sliders. These rods provide stability and ensure your window treatments don’t sag, enhancing both form and function. Having the correct brackets as well as the correct number of brackets is also very important.

Traverse Rods:

For wider windows and operable drapery panels, consider installing traverse rods. They offer effortless control and a clean, seamless appearance when your drapes are closed. You can take it a step further with motorized traverse rods for ultimate convenience and automation.

Rods with Rings:

Sometimes, simplicity is key. Rods with rings are perfect for decorative or stationary panels, especially on narrower windows. They offer a timeless and versatile look, allowing you to open or close your curtains with ease.

Custom Shaping:

Every window is unique, but there is no reason you should feel limited by standard options. Custom hardware can be bent or shaped to perfectly fit your window's dimensions, ensuring a seamless and tailored appearance.

Ceiling-Mounted Hardware:

Maybe you don’t want to have your hardware visible. In this project, our client wanted the hardware hidden, so he had his hardware “built” into the ceiling.

This installation method creates a sense of height and grandeur in your space, and is an excellent choice for larger windows and rooms with high ceilings.

Custom Double Rods:

A fun way to add a little versatility to your windows is installing custom double rods. With a double rod installation, you can hang sheers in the back and decorative panels in the front. You can make them both operable or stationary, or keep the front stationary allowing the back to be operable.

This allows you to easily control light, privacy, as well as the look and feel of your room, creating a warm cozy feel in the cooler months, and an open airy feel as spring approaches.

Custom Finishes:

Personalize your decorative hardware further with custom finishes. Whether you desire a polished metal look, a rustic patina, or a finish that matches your existing decor, there are endless possibilities to explore.

Finial Selection:

Finials are one of the most expressive ways to bring your personality into your custom window treatments. From elegant crystal finials to dramatic iron options, or carved wooden creations, these small details make a big impact.
